Fashion Rules

03 March 2014

I've never been quite privy to "fashion rules". Working in retail was particularly challenging, as I would always insist on wearing pastels during winter when black and cobalt were "on trend", and constantly be reminded that pale pink wasn't "in season". It seems that same situation is creeping back up on me in reverse, as it is nearly springtime and I have been rummaging through my wardrobe for some deep earth and jewel tones, colours typically reserved for autumn, just because that's what I've been feeling like wearing lately. I suppose I'm just trying to expand my wardrobe and become more versatile. Despite my preference for pastel hues over any other, I do get bored of wearing the same thing year-round. I don't really believe there are rules to fashion, despite what the magazines and television programmes may tell you. If you're happy in what you're wearing, don't let a list of do's and don't's interfere with that. Unless of course you have a dress code for school or work... but that's a whole other topic.

Stay sweet ♡
